lIABILITY AGREEMENT

Please read the Liability Agreement below. All participants, renters, and guests are required to agree to the terms before participating in studio activities, classes, workshops, or rentals. 

1. ASSUMPTION OF RISK

I understand that participation in art classes, workshops, studio activities, and use of the facilities may involve inherent and other risks. These may include, but are not limited to, slips, trips, falls, cuts, burns, exposure to paints, solvents, adhesives, dust, tools, equipment, sharp objects, hot materials, chemicals, electrical equipment, furniture, and other studio materials or conditions.

I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation and use of the studio, whether known or unknown, foreseeable or unforeseeable.

2. RELEASE OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and hold harmless Ann Arbor Artist Studios, its owner(s), operators, instructors, studio members, renters, employees, volunteers, agents, and representatives from claims, demands, damages, injuries, losses, or expenses arising out of or related to my participation or use of the facilities, except to the extent caused by conduct that cannot legally be released or waived.

3. USE OF EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS

I agree to use studio equipment, tools, supplies, furniture, and facilities responsibly and only for their intended purpose.

I understand that certain art materials, tools, equipment, and processes may present risks if used improperly. I agree to follow all safety instructions provided by Ann Arbor Artist Studios, instructors, or studio representatives.

I am responsible for any damage I cause through misuse, negligence, or failure to follow reasonable safety instructions.

4. PERSONAL PROPERTY

I understand that Ann Arbor Artist Studios is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property, artwork, supplies, tools, clothing, or other belongings brought onto the premises.

I am responsible for securing my own belongings.

5. STUDIO RENTALS

If I rent or use studio space at Ann Arbor Artist Studios, I agree to follow all studio rules, safety procedures, rental policies, and instructions provided by the studio.

I am responsible for the conduct and safety of any guests, students, clients, models, assistants, or other individuals I bring into the studio.

I agree to leave the studio and any shared areas in the condition in which I found them and to properly clean and put away materials and equipment after use.

6. WORKSHOPS, CLASSES & EVENTS

I understand that instructors and guest teachers may use their own materials, tools, techniques, and equipment during classes and workshops.

I agree to follow the instructor's safety instructions and to ask questions if I do not understand how to safely use a material, tool, or piece of equipment.

Ann Arbor Artist Studios is not responsible for injuries or losses arising from an instructor's activities except to the extent liability cannot legally be waived.

7. MINORS

If I am signing this agreement on behalf of a minor, I represent that I am the minor's parent or legal guardian and have authority to provide consent on the minor's behalf.

I understand that minors may be exposed to the same risks described in this agreement. I accept responsibility for the minor's participation, supervision, conduct, and safety to the extent required by the activity or class.

The minor is also expected to follow all studio rules and safety instructions.

8. MEDICAL TREATMENT

In the event of an emergency, accident, or injury, I authorize Ann Arbor Artist Studios, its staff, instructors, or representatives to seek appropriate emergency medical assistance for me or, if applicable, the minor for whom I am signing.

I understand that I am responsible for any resulting medical expenses.

9. PHOTOGRAPHY & RECORDING

I understand that photographs or video may occasionally be taken during studio activities, classes, workshops, exhibitions, or events.

Unless otherwise notified or separately consented to, Ann Arbor Artist Studios will make reasonable efforts not to use identifiable images of participants for promotional purposes without permission.

10. COMPLIANCE WITH STUDIO RULES

I agree to comply with all posted studio rules, rental policies, safety requirements, instructor directions, and reasonable requests from Ann Arbor Artist Studios staff or representatives.

I understand that failure to follow these requirements may result in removal from an activity or termination of studio access without a refund.

11. ACKNOWLEDGMENT

I confirm that I have read this agreement, understand its contents, and voluntarily agree to its terms.

I understand that I am giving up certain legal rights by signing this agreement, including certain rights to bring claims against Ann Arbor Artist Studios and the individuals or entities covered by this agreement, to the extent permitted by law.

I have had the opportunity to ask questions about this agreement before accepting it.

12. ELECTRONIC ACCEPTANCE

I understand that checking the box indicating my agreement and submitting my name electronically constitutes my electronic signature and has the same intended effect as a handwritten signature.

By submitting this agreement, I confirm that the information I provide is accurate and that I agree to the terms above.

For a minor: The person completing this agreement confirms that they are the minor's parent or legal guardian and are authorized to consent on the minor's behalf.
